TRADITION AND ZEITGEIST

Rooted in centuries-old craftsmanship with a view to the future

ABOUT THE ATELIER

With master furrier Christoph Kobza, Atelier Degenhardt is part of a new generation that revives, cultivates and develops classic craftsmanship. The result is individual, modern designs that meet today's demands and challenges.

We are turning our backs on fast fashion and rejecting inhumane working conditions in the global textile industry and their ecological consequences.

As a resource-conserving and sustainable material, fur has a raison d'être, especially today, and as a durable, certified and versatile natural material, it creates durability across generations.

ALTERATION

Grandma's old mink coat, which she always wore from the pastry shop to the theater and which still smells slightly of her perfume. The discarded lambskin covers from Dad's old car that have been on many a trip. Or mom's jacket made from local red fox, which is gathering dust in the attic along with inherited fur accessories.

Old furs can be given a new lease of life by reworking them. The possibilities are almost endless, depending on the quality and quantity of the original material. For example, an old coat can be turned into a new coat with a contemporary style, a jacket or a gilet with a hood, a lining for a woolen coat, parka or similar, as well as a fluffy blanket for the couch.

Pure fur, in combination with fabric or leather, sheared afterwards, re-dyed - for on the go or at home; there are no limits to the imagination. With this in mind: Turn old into wow!

ADJUSTMENT

The inherited coat fits well, but the batwing sleeves scream 80-ies or the vintage jacket you bought at the flea market looks better with a fitted waist? No problem! By making small changes to the collar and sleeves, fit, length or lining, old items of clothing can be adapted and made ready for everyday wear again.

FROM SCRATCH

A fashionable mink bomber jacket in pink? A soft cashmere cape with fox trim in muted colors for the theater or ball season? A warm lining for a classic Barbour jacket? A cushion set to match the couch or a fluffy bedspread? A cuddly thermophore to stop your tummy pinching?

Everything is possible with a new production: from classically simple to modernly extravagant. The desired item of clothing or (home) accessory is individually made in Vienna from certified, sustainable furs according to the customer's wishes.

CLEANING

Furs lose their shine and suppleness over time due to various environmental influences. Your furs are professionally cleaned and refreshed in our own fur cleaning studio.

In the course of cleaning, the garment is also checked and minor repairs are carried out. Partial cleaning of collars or individual soiled areas is also possible. Regular care extends the life of your furs.
